ABOUT US
East London Elevators
East London Elevators is a London-based lift company focused on keeping buildings running properly, not just ticking maintenance boxes.
We work with property managers, asset managers, and building owners across London and Essex who expect a higher standard of service. People who need things handled properly, without chasing, and without the same issues coming back again.
With over 25 years in the industry, our background is heavily rooted in fault finding, repair, and problem lifts. The kind most companies either avoid or cover up with temporary fixes. That experience shapes how we approach everything, from maintenance contracts to full modernisations.
We are a small, hands-on team by design. You won’t be passed through layers of admin or call centres. You deal directly with people who understand lifts, the building, and the consequences of getting it wrong.
Just as importantly, we build genuine working relationships with our clients. We take the time to understand not only the building and its technical requirements, but also the people responsible for it. How they work, what pressures they are under, and what matters to them.
In many cases, we are stepping in after trust has been lost with previous providers. Rebuilding that trust, through consistency, honesty, and actually delivering what is promised, is a key part of what we do.
Why East London Elevators Was Created
East London Elevators was built out of frustration with how the industry typically operates.
Too many lift companies follow the same model. Minimum input, repeat call-outs, and little accountability for long-term performance. Maintenance becomes a routine visit rather than a meaningful service, and the same faults keep coming back.
After years of seeing this first-hand, we set out to do things differently.
The aim was simple:
Maintain lifts properly so they run reliably
Fix issues at the root, not just manage symptoms
Give clients clear, honest advice, even when it is not the most profitable option
Build long-term relationships based on trust, consistency, and accountability
That approach still defines how we operate today.
Where We Sit in the Market
We are not the cheapest, and we are not trying to be.
Our niche is working with clients who are tired of poor maintenance and repeat breakdowns, managing older or problematic lifts, looking for long-term reliability over short-term cost savings, responsible for buildings where downtime is not acceptable, and who want a contractor they can trust and rely on long-term.
How We Work
We focus on doing the job properly and taking responsibility for the outcome.
That means maintaining lifts based on their condition, not just following a checklist. It means identifying and resolving root causes rather than attending the same breakdown repeatedly. It means giving clear advice so clients understand what is happening and what needs to be done.
If something is not worth repairing, we will say so. If there is a better long-term solution, we will explain it clearly.
We are accountable for the lifts we look after, and we stand behind the work we carry out.
The Type of Work We Take On
A large part of our work involves taking over lifts that are already underperforming.
These are typically sites where breakdowns are frequent, faults keep returning, and there is little confidence in the existing service.
We specialise in stabilising these lifts, resolving underlying issues, and putting a structured plan in place to improve long-term reliability.
You can read more about this on our Lift Repair Specialists page.
Our Approach
Every building is different, and most lift issues come down to how they have been maintained over time. We take the time to understand the history, current condition, and risks, then build a practical plan around it.
We also understand that behind every building is a person responsible for it, often dealing with pressure from residents, tenants, or stakeholders. Our role is not just to maintain the lift, but to make that responsibility easier to manage.
No overcomplication. No sales spin. Just competent engineering, clear communication, and a service you can rely on.
